3 Dating Tips for Shy Guys [ That Have Nothing to Do With Being Extroverted or Good Looking

4 min read

Shy guys often believe that their timidness is what holds them back with success in dating. Secretly, shyness can be a superpower if you know how to harness it. There are three key dating tips for shy guys or introverts that allow you to use shyness to improve your odds at the dating game. Most importantly, these three strategies don’t ask you to be anyone other than yourself.

Shy Guy Dating Tip #1: Look for People Just Like You

Sometimes the hottest girls with the least drama and who end up being the highest quality are often quite shy themselves. They’re not looking for somebody who’s overly confident and bragging to everyone about how great they are. They’re often looking for somebody a little bit more understated like themselves.

Their idea of a fun time is actually spending a little bit more of a quiet time indoors watching Netflix, eating some good food, and snuggling up with somebody who may be just as shy themselves until they come out of their shell. This makes it a lot easier for somebody who’s shy to actually date the highest quality women.

Shy Guy Dating Tip #2: Excel at Online Dating

Extroverts and overconfident men often struggle with online dating as they tend to either over-communicate or come across as a little bit too braggy. In an online dating platform, they can make women feel pressured while women are swamped with so many different guys being just as sexually forward as the next. It’s actually the shy guy that is willing to take the time to craft well thought-out messages. This stands out from the crowd and has a better result.

Communicating by written message can work well for you as long as you take the time to actually look at someone’s profile and really connect on the things that matter to them. This could look like observing small, obscure items in the background of their photos that give you some insight into their personality, or maybe a reference in their profile that they wrote down with a quote to something that is obviously meaningful to them. In this way, shy guys can master online dating and take time crafting that initial hello.

You can use your thoughtfulness to start a conversation that actually shows that you’ve put some thought and effort into it. This is a skillset the shy guys often have because they’re willing to take the time to truly get to know somebody that the extroverts and overconfident guys tend to miss. This can make it a lot easier for you to form a genuine connection with somebody online. Plus, because you’re communicating with somebody via an online platform, your shyness isn’t really an issue.

Shy Guy Dating Tip #3: Shine Like a Hidden Gem

As a shy guy, you are the hidden gem. Extroverts tend to overshare when they meet people. They’re constantly talking about themselves and essentially speaking so much that nobody else can get a word in, but shy people have an aura of intrigue about them because no one really knows too much about you. When you connect with someone, you can use that to get some serious quality time with someone that you want to connect deeper with.

After having a very initial, simple interaction with somebody, you can look at them, making eye contact, and say, “Do you want to hear a funny story that I don’t often share?” This is going to generate massive curiosity, especially as they can clearly see that you don’t often share stories with people.

At this point, it’s easy enough to say “Let’s step outside some fresh air,” as you start to share the story. Now you’re going to have their attention in a one-on-one environment where you’re not swamped with lots of loud people, noises, or other people trying to compete for your attention. When you share that funny story, you’re going to have the girl laughing and smiling and hanging onto your every word as you start to form a real, deep connection.

This is something that shy people can do that extroverts struggle with, but really isn’t shyness, timidness, or even being an introvert that holds someone back in dating. The real thing that holds people back is not knowing the game plan. When you meet someone you like, the next step can be confusing if you don’t know how to start and maintain a conversation or even generate attraction based on body language alone. If you’re looking for a game plan you can rely on, we’ve got just the thing for you. We call it The ACE Formula and you can learn more about it here.
